Doraté often travels to Europe and especially Italy, where she paints Landscapes and City Scenes on location. Her paintings are inspired by the charm of the old world and capture the colors of Rome, the beauty of Venice and the romance of Ravello.

Doraté abstracts are often a mystery to the artist herself. Beginning with shapes of vivid colors, she adds layers of transparent or opaque water media until she feels a story emerging. From this she imparts rhythm, depth and soul into her paintings.
